Activity Status page – searching for an activity
At the top of your Activity Status page are 12 boxes which allow you to search the list of your activities.
For the ‘Enter keyword’ search box, you can type in a word and then activate the search either by hitting enter or by hitting the blue ‘Search’ button.
For all the other search boxes, you select an option and then must activate the search by hitting the blue ‘Search’ button.
The search elements can be combined. For instance, if you want to find all M/R day walks, set Duration to single day, set Grading length to Medium, set Grading Terrain to Rough, and then hit the blue search button.
Use this search box to search words in activity names. (On the Activity Status page, the keyword search does not retrieve words elsewhere e.g. in the activity description. But if you can, if you want, search by a word in the activity description, map name or elsewhere, via What’s On.)
Select activity view
See separate help page on Activity Views.
Select activity type
Search by activity type e.g. Walk, Canyoning or Work party. Hit the down-arrow to see a list of types.
Select leader’s name
Use this to find activities by the name of one of your co-leaders.
The ‘Select leader name’ drop-down box only contains your co-leaders. If you select Fred Bloggs from the drop-down list, the System will retrieve activities for which you and Fred are co-leaders.
This search will be only slightly useful when you are working in Current View: generally there will be only a handful of activities in Current View – hardly worth filtering. The search will be more useful in Archived view, where the number of activities will grow to a long list.
Use this to find activities with a particular status e.g. ‘Offered’ or ‘Rejected’. The meaning of statuses (offered, re-submitted, etc) is explained on the Statuses help page.
Use this to select part-day, single-day or multi-day activities. Hit the down-arrow to see a list of durations.
Select grading length
Use to find your activities graded, for example, ‘Short’. Hit the down-arrow to see a list of lengths.
Select grading terrain
Use to find your activities graded, for example, ‘Easy’. Hit the down-arrow to see a list of types of terrain.
To find combined gradings e.g. S/E, set Select grading length to ‘Short’, and ‘Set grading terrain’ to ‘Easy’ and then hit ‘Search’.
Select grading exploratory
Use to find your activities graded, for example, ‘Partly exploratory’. Hit the down-arrow to see a list.
Select grading wet
Use to find your activities graded wet or not wet. Hit the down-arrow to see a list.
Start date of activity
Use this to find all activities starting on or after the date that you enter.
End date of activity
Use this to find all activities ending on or before the date that you enter.
Date range searching
Use ‘Start date of activity’ and ‘End Date of activity’ to search for activities that start or end between the two dates that you enter.
Activates the search term(s) you just entered.
Clears the search term(s) you just entered.
Q I just searched on the keyword ‘Monga’ and got ‘No record found’. But I know I have a walk in Monga National Park coming up; I can see it on What’s On. Why can’t I find it in Activity Status?
A Check the other search boxes. There may be some data still there from a previous search, which means you actually searched on keyword ‘Monga’ and activity type ‘Canoeing’. No wonder the System found nothing – there is not much canoeing in Monga National Park. Or maybe you searched on keyword ‘Monga’ with ‘Select activity view’ still set to Archived. Try ‘Reset’ and then repeat the search.
