When you are interested in an activity shown in the Activity list, you use the Activity name link and more details are shown. One of the items is a map of the Activity Location.

The walk leader may indicate the start of the trip via the red Google pin (the default location is that of CBC monthly meetings!). To see a larger map, use the ‘Open in maps’ link. Now you can pan and zoom the Google map and change the map layers (eg. show a Satellite view).

Activity owners – do use this optional Bilby facility to convey additional information to participants. Perhaps the easiest way to set the pin is, when creating or editing your activity, to go to the Activity Info, Maps tab, Toggle fullscreen view and drag the pin to your desired location. Change to Satellite view if that helps. Exit from fullscreen view and Save Start Marker. Note that the map always displays in Map (not Satellite) mode. You can also set the pin using a known location in lat/lon.
