Before you apply, we suggest that you read Guidelines for Participants. You need to be 18 or over to join. Membership is $40 per annum.
The Club partners with Bilby to manage our Activity bookings and membership. To find out how to use Bilby to join an Activity as a Guest, and how to apply for membership, follow these steps: How To Join.
Guests can attend an ‘Open to Public’ walk or activity selected from our Activities Program.
Once you have participated as a Guest in at least one walk or activity, you can Apply for Membership of the Club. You can participate in up to three walks or activities as a Guest, after which you need to Apply for Membership.
Our Constitution requires that membership applicants are nominated and seconded by current members. The Membership Secretary, along with the leader of any walk or activity that you attended as a guest, will arrange this for you so you can apply for membership without knowing current Club members.
When your membership application has been checked by the committee and approved (we’ll let you know when that happens) you will be able to Purchase Membership.
Bilby only accepts online payment by credit card. If you want to pay by another method, contact the Membership Secretary by emailing membsec”at”canberrabushwalkingclub.org.
As a member of the Canberra Bushwalking Club you will be able to join Members Only Activities and will receive the Club’s online newsletter called ‘It‘.
Your membership is valid for twelve months from the date your membership was approved. Before your membership is due to expire, Bilby will send you a reminder to Renew your Membership.
