This help page describes the effect of expiry, rejection or deletion on users, particularly users with unfinished Club business such as bookings for upcoming activities or leadership of upcoming activities.
Effect of expiry on guests and members
An expired Guest or Member can still log in, but only to apply for membership or to renew their membership. They cannot make new bookings or receive system-generated emails.
Check-in and Finalising the Activity
Occasionally, an expired member or guest may attend a no-need-to-book walk. When the leader comes to add their name to the list of participants when finalising the activity, their name will appear as an ‘expired’ member. You will be able to update them to having ‘attended’ the activity however the Membership Secretary will also have a record that they need to renew their membership and will make contact with them.
If in doubt, the leader should contact the Membership Secretary and the Assistant Walks Secretary. The Membership Secretary may have to counsel someone who appears to be avoiding payment of membership fees. The decision will depend on the circumstances; fortunately, such circumstances should be rare.
