Scroggin is a high-energy mix of dried, fruit, nuts and sweets. Here are some suggestions for the mix:

Dried fruit:

Dates, dried apple, dried apricots, dried bananas/banana chips, dried blueberries, dried cranberries, dried mixed citrus peel, dried pears, dried pineapple, home-dried watermelon (very sweet!), raisins and sultanas.

Nuts:

Cashews, almonds, macadamias. In cold weather, pecans, walnuts, slivered almonds and pine nuts are kinder to your teeth.

Sweets:

Chocolate broken into squares, jellybeans, jelly snakes, licorice all-sorts, marshmallows, fruit cubes e.g. ‘Apricot delight’.
