If an incident that requires, or seems likely to require, medical attention or that involves the emergency services, occurs during a Club activity, the leader must submit an incident report to the Club’s Check-In officer. The Training and Safety Subcommittee reviews the report and may recommend changes to Club procedures or other actions.

Many older incident reports are accessible only through the Club’s paper archives, held at the ACT Heritage Library. Some more recent incident reports are:

Broken wrist: helicopter extraction, Kakadu, June 2013

Broken arm: 4WD ambulance extraction, Buckenbowra, October 2012

Broken ankle: helicopter extraction, Tidbinbilla, July 2011

In an incident report, a leader should cover all the points in the Club’s Incident Report form.

A checklist of advice for ground and air rescues is available.
