Biography

Vance joined the Club around 1980. He served two terms on the Committee as Correspondence Secretary and then served as Editor for six years.

Vance was a popular leader who led well over 100 day and overnight walks. His favourite walks were to destinations with swimming opportunities: Nadgee, Murramurang, Endrick Falls, Corang Lagoon, the Shoalhaven, the Murrumbidgee, Goodradigbee and Bundanoon Creek but he also regularly led walks to Cotter Rocks, Coronet Peak, North Tinderry, Mt Orroral, Rendezvous Creek and Nursery Hill and other destinations.

Vance received the Greg Buckley Award in 1994 in recognition of his considerable contribution to the Club’s walking program over the years. In 1995 he was awarded Honorary Life Membership for service to the Club.
